Let’s just say that, thank God, He calls us to be fishers of Men
September 24-25, 2026
Five decided men took upon themselves the greatest adventure of their lives. BE OUTDOORSMEN, and oh! boy is not easy, but…. IT’S SO MUCH FUN!!!
This idea was born when a dear friend of mine, who is also a missionary in México, gave the news that God is calling him back to his wife’s hometown to be trained as a pastor. So we have always talked about the outdoorsman, going fishing, camping, and having adventures like the good old Nineteen Hundreds, so we rallied up some friends to go fishing. I watched all the YouTube videos on the Outdoorboys YouTube channel, like his other channel, Catfish & Carp, and also the Dude Life videos and others, so I thought I was prepared. I even bought a fishing Rod and some lures, hooks, and the whole deal.
So the day came; with the help of God, we were able to put all the stuff in the car, and my brother (Actual brother) managed to borrow more fishing rods, so we were ready, and the wise voice of the holy Spirit told us to buy Food, cause we (and I mean I) were thinking about cooking what we caught. So, after much discussion and pitching in (financially speaking), we set our destination to what was about to be our best and most valuable trip: the SUPERMARKET!. Once we were well stocked up, we headed off to the beautiful beach paradise of Saldamando. We got there with our high hopes of catching all the fish of the ocean, but little did we know that God was planning on humbling us. We prepared our rods, put on the hooks, lures, and weights, and walked to the closest place to cast our lures. First red flag 🚩 of the day: I cast my first lure, and my fishing rod broke. I did measure the distance correctly and hit a massive rock when pulling back to throw it, but hey, we did not lose hope. We kept trying and trying, and we started to lose 1 by 1 of the lures, so the hunger started to take the best from us. So we decided to stop and go cook some food, so we ended up cooking Cup Noodles & Quesadillas, the Best Meal we had that Day. af there that, the night came upon us, so we went inside the tent and played some board games. Shawn did a small devotional, and we talked.
Then the next day came, with new mercies, so we had some cereal, prepared the rods again, and up we went in search of a better spot we were told. But again, nothing. We lost more and more lures, so we decided, let’s go back to camp, and slow cook some chicken on the charcoals, and let’s go to the beach to relax and enjoy. And so we did. We didn’t end up catching anything, but we were able to grow deeper in our friendship, and it’s always amazing to see, admire, and be part of God’s creation.
Enjoy GOD’S Creation. Go outside, and let’s make Disciples.
